Overcoming loneliness and isolation through community at Burtonwood Bowling Club

Meet Nora and Noreen, active members of our bowling club who recently celebrated their 90th birthdays. They are a testament to the vibrant spirit of our community. Our club’s ladies’ team, with an average age of 75, showcases what we are all about: more than just bowling, but creating meaningful connections and fostering joy for people of all ages.

Located in the small, often isolating urban village of Burtonwood, we understand how loneliness and social isolation can affect individuals. However, our club is a warm and welcoming space where isolation is never a barrier. Here, members of all ages—young and old, ladies and gentlemen—come together, not just to play, but to maintain their mental and physical health through the shared enjoyment of crown green bowling.
