We help families and carers better understand autism and feel confident in advocating for the autistic people they support.
Autism Central is a peer education and support programme commissioned by NHS England. Its purpose is to help families and carers better understand autism and feel confident in advocating for the autistic people they support.
The programme is co-produced with autistic people, parents, and carers, and is open to anyone caring for or supporting an autistic person of any age. It provides access to education, coaching, and peer connection through online resources, one-to-one support, and local community and online events.
From 1 October 2025, Autism Central has been led by Anna Freud, a world-leading mental health charity with extensive experience supporting children, young people, families, and the professionals who work with them.
