Ofsted registered Nursery providing childcare for children aged 2-5 years.

St Monica’s Nursery is located on the site of St Monica’s Catholic Primary School in Appleton, Warrington. The nursery is a term-time only setting and is open from 8.50am to 3.20pm, Monday to Friday, for children aged 2 - 4 years.

Flexible arrangements are in place for families requiring out of hours care via the Wasps Link Club.

30 hour funded places are available. The nursery is registered to take a maximum of 28 children per session.

Our opening times are as follows: Monday to Friday

  • Breakfast club - 8am until 8.50am
  • Morning session - 8.50am until 11.50am
  • Lunch - 11.50am until 12.20pm
  • Afternoon session - 12.20pm until 3.20pm
  • After nursery care - 3.20pm until 4pm

We ensure our children acquire the skills needed to become confident young learners, full of curiosity and wonder. Our little ones are supported and encouraged to grow and develop into confident young people who are kind and caring to all those around them, including caring for their environment and the wider world.

We use a tailored pedagogical approach to ensure our children have the very best teaching and resources. We use current approaches such as the Curiosity Approach, Reggio Emilio, Forest Schools and Hygge to help us provide a holistic and full curriculum.

We have very strong links with St Monica's Catholic Primary School, which ensures a smooth and successful transition to school.

All our staff are highly trained to at least a level 3 standard and have Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene.

Hot meals can be purchased from St Monica's Catholic Primary School daily, or parents/carers can send a packed lunch. Snacks are provided by the nursery each session.
