The Forget-me-not dementia cafe in Penketh offers a warm welcoming space for those diagnosed with dementia and their carer to meet and socialise with others. We meet each Tuesday morning, 10am-12 noon in St Paul's Church, Penketh. We offer a listening ear, signposting to services within the borough as well as many activities aimed at encouraging everyone to live well with the disease, make friendships with others travelling along a similar journey and the opportunity to gain support from peers and the volunteers who have had experience either professionally and/or personally in this area.
The activities on offer are as follows; table tennis, art, pool, table top games, bingo, quizzes, chair based exercises to name but a few.
We have entertainment regularly and have started our own dementia choir which has performed at local gatherings. These activities can change and alter as we aim to be responsive to the needs and wishes of our cafe members.
