At Peak, our Development Programme offers an educational approach for children with SEND that leverages adventure-based activities and experiences to enhance the learning process for young people who find engagement in mainstream education challenging for various reasons.

Peak sits within the Keys Group https://www.keyschildren.co.uk/ , meaning that all our work is heavily focussed on engagement with young people and adults with additional needs, whether that be SEND, physical disabilities, visual impairments, hearing difficulties, ADD, Autism, Brian injuries and mental health conditions. In 2023 our centres supported over 3000 young people and their families across a range of activities and abilities. On a daily basis we work closely with Virtual schools, primary and secondary schools, Multi academy trusts, Local authorities, Short break commissioners, Young carer services, Police, Youth Offending teams, Youth Groups, Sports Clubs and Corporate teams.

Our alternative provision ensures students engage in hands-on, outdoor activities that go beyond traditional classroom settings. During their time with us, they will build strong relationships with our team of professional staff, with learning and safeguarding at its heart. Our goal is to provide students with opportunities to develop various skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and resilience, while also fostering a love for learning in a new and engaging environment. To ensure success we foster connections with schools/virtual schools incorporating lessons from various subjects into adventure-based learning wherever possible, with the end goal of re-integrating students back into a school environment to reduce permanent exclusion rates.

Keys Group which Peak forms a part of have delivered services to children and young people for over 20 years.  Keys Group have over 24 registered specialist schools, plus over 140 registered children residential homes, supported accommodation services. Within Keys Group we also have over 100 adult services providing support to over 1,000 people with Mental Health needs, Autism, Learning Disabilities or Acquired Brain Injuries.

As part of our staff development strategy within the Keys group we take staff training extremely seriously. We have a core set of mandatory training for all staff to undertake as well as additional training courses to support with the bespoke person-centred needs of the people we support.

Keys Group also introduced Keys Connect in 2022 which is a model of trauma informed therapeutic practice developed from research and understanding about how adverse childhood experiences can impact upon the people that we care for, look after and support.

Our Alternative provision offer starts with a 6 - week minimum Development Programme priced at £320 + vat per day, for a group size of 4 young people, with discounted rates for a 5th and 6th person. This price option includes, 1 instructor, activities and 2 teaching assistant or support staff places. Every session with us, each young person on average works towards 3 nationally recognised outcomes, with over 700 potential outcomes in total to progress with over the course of their time with us.

We understand the importance of collaboration and are committed to working closely with the Council and the families of Warrington to ensure the seamless integration and delivery of services. Our approach is founded on principles of inclusivity, respect, and empowerment, with a focus on promoting independence and enhancing overall quality of life.
