Shared Lives offers people over 18 an alternative and flexible form of day care, overnight respite/short break- and long-term care. The support is provided by individuals and families, from all walks of life in the local community, to people with a variety of support needs.
Shared Lives Companions are essentially volunteers who receive expenses and provide care and support within their own homes which includes:
- Day Support: a flexible arrangement either in the daytime or evening
- Respite/Short Breaks: overnight stays that can be from one night to as many as needed.
- Long Term: where the person moves in and lives as a member of the family.
Suitable Clients:
Adults age over 18 including:
- Older people
- People with a Learning Disability
- People with mental health problems
- People with a physical disability
- People with other health or sensory issues
- People with Dementia
